Rome airport taxi

It is the most convenient but also the most expensive if not used by several people. It is absolutely advisable to use official with the taxi cartel at its top and cars with yellow or white. Surely after leaving the gate arrivals receive offers from people who offered to take. It is best to ignore as illegal taxis bring nothing but problems and added costs.

The race to the center of Rome costs about 50 euros (without charged suitcases) and travel time is about 40-50 minutes depending on traffic. The taxi stand is well signposted after arrival. There are also supplements for holidays and night.

Make sure the meter is not working and other more or less even negotiate the price before you get.

At peak hours as from 7:00 to 10:00 and 16:00 to 18:30 traffic sometimes makes the taxi is slower than the train, and much more expensive!

As said before if you are traveling in a group of four people is not a bad choice of transport.

  By car

The paths to Rome are very well marked a departure from the airport. The journey time is approximately 40-50 minutes.

Since Rome is easy to reach across the highway Rome-Fiumicino (exit 30 of Grande Raccordo Anulare).

If you want to rent a car you can follow this link.

Another great option is to hire a shuttle service so that you'll have a chauffeur waiting for your arrival. There is so expensive. More here.

  BY TRAIN

There are two trains linking Rome and Fiumicino:

Leonardo Express: Once you arrive at the airport just simply follow the signs for "Treni" to find the platform. The trip costs 11 euros and the ticket can be purchased at a ticket office near the train or in some vending machines next to the lockers very easy to use. Does not stop.

Before you jump on the bandwagon must validate the ticket machines along with some platforms. These machines stamp a date and time on the ticket. This validation is very important because they require the reviewers. Once validated the ticket you can only wait in the platforms to the departing train to Rome.

The train is a bit chaotic and at peak times can be a hell for travellers luggage placed where they can and do not hesitate to occupy seats free. Do not expect help from anyone with baggage and be very careful with your personal belongings.

Once you get to Termini life is not easy because the train does not fall to the bottom of the station which compels us to walk for about 10 minutes before departure. This ride can be really heavy if they have a lot of baggage. In this case we recommend take a luggage cart holder. At Termini we must be very vigilant with luggage and portfolios. We must not become paranoid but the problem exists and thieves can ruin a vacation.

The journey to Fiumicino Termini lasts about 35 minutes. The train leaves every 30 minutes from 6:37 until 23:37.

From Termini Fiumicino to the schedule is from 5:52 to 22:52. See table official schedules.

Metropolitan FM1: It is a local party line towards Roman Rome Tiburtina station every 15 minutes from 06:27 to 21:27. It takes about 45 minutes and the price does not reach 3 euros.

It may be interesting if your hotel is situated near the station. Watch on the map before you plan your trip
